We are seeking a dedicated site Safety Inspector to join our team. The Safety Inspector will be responsible for overseeing safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure work environment for all employees.

Safety Inspector

The Safety Inspector will be responsible for the day to day adherence of the Intex safety program. The Safety Inspector will assist the Safety Coordinator and other safety managers in maintaining company compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations. The Safety Inspector will also serve as safety representative and will be expected to "office" on location of the job requiring an onsite safety representative.

Primary Duties and responsibilities:
  • Supervise the enforcement of safety policies and procedures.
  • Identify, coordinate and conduct safety training sessions.
  • Perform regular jobsite safety inspections to ensure employees are following safety procedures and complying with all Intex and OSHA safety policies.
  • Identification and correction of OSHA and other hazards associated with construction.
  • Assist in investigations of accidents requiring medical attention.
  • Attend required insurance site safety audits.
  • Maintain and provide jobsite specific safety documents.
  • Document employees on safety topics such as first aid, CPR, electrical safety, safety equipment, jobsite equipment and machinery such as aerial lifts, trenchers and excavator.
  • Maintain inventory of all Personal Protection Equipment.
  • Attend classes at the direction of the Safety Inspector or other safety managers in pursuit of recognized safety certifications and other technical certifications as needed.
Position Requirements :
  • OSHA 30 preferred
  • Qualified CPR / First Aid instructor license preferred.
  • Have a mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills.
  • Must have a current drivers license.
  • Must have own reliable transportation.
  • Must be flexible to come in early or stay late per customer or project demands.
  • Must be capable to use business software, computers and other office machines.
  • Must be able to work effectively with superintendents, foreman and other field personnel.
  • Be able to work in a "Team" environment.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively and professionally in written and verbal form.
  • Have the ability to work with contract documents and with applicable vendors.
  • Have the ability to monitor own work to ensure quality.
  • Have the ability to effectively present information to clients, vendors and other employees.
Physical Requirements:
  • Personal weight and tools cannot exceed weight limit of ladders. (Class 1-250 lbs. / Class 2-300lbs.)
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
  • Constantly move about on feet.
  • Climb ladders and scaffolds of all types and heights
Complete full day assignments:
  • Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work area and access all levels of the building using OSHA approved site ladders or stairs still under construction but acceptable for use.
  • Possess good vision, normal or corrected.
  • Possess good hearing, normal or corrected.
  • Must be able to positively identify different colors.
Working Conditions:
  • May work inside or outside while wearing PPE at all times. Possible exposure to hot / cold temperatures, weather elements, dust, toxic materials, in restricted or confined spaces, on slippery or uneven surfaces, work on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, in ditches and excavations, work in and around single and multi-story buildings and with all exposures typical of a heavy construction site, including portable sanitary facilities.
