Manufacturing Engineer
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to provide technical support for production equipment and manufacturing processes in a high-volume environment. This role will partner closely with maintenance, operations, quality, and automation teams to troubleshoot issues, improve uptime, optimize processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a technical resource for production equipment, manufacturing systems, and process performance.
- Investigate equipment downtime, process inefficiencies, and quality concerns using data-driven problem-solving techniques.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to improve equipment reliability and production throughput.
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
- Develop, update, and maintain engineering documentation, work instructions, process specifications, and technical records.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs by identifying critical equipment and process requirements.
- Assist with installation, startup, commissioning, and validation of new equipment and production lines.
- Analyze production data and equipment performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
- Partner with controls and automation teams to troubleshoot machine behavior, sensors, robotics, and control systems.
- Maintain accurate equipment records, BOM structures, and technical data within maintenance management systems.
- Recommend and implement process, tooling, and equipment improvements that enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on reducing defects, increasing throughput, and improving consistency.
- Support safety initiatives, risk assessments, and equipment compliance activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience supporting production equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with automated equipment, robotics, machine controls, and/or vision inspection systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Additional Details:
- Experience supporting Siemens-based automation systems is preferred.
- Background in battery manufacturing, energy storage, automotive, medical device, or other highly automated manufacturing environments is a plus.
- Knowledge of asset management systems, maintenance systems, or manufacturing execution systems is beneficial.
- Six Sigma certification or continuous improvement experience is preferred.
- Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is highly desirable.
- Mandarin language skills are a plus.
