The Shipping Coordinator is a key member of Copeland’s Forney, TX Distribution Center team. This role ensures smooth, efficient, and cost-effective shipping and warehouse operations. You’ll manage daily shipments of finished goods and raw materials, coordinate with carriers, maintain accurate documentation, and support warehouse activities—helping keep our supply chain running seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities Shipping Operations- Coordinate daily shipments of finished goods, raw materials, and special freight (air, ground, expedited).
- Prepare and manage Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing slips, and other shipping documentation; verify shipments before release.
- Schedule and confirm carrier pickups for LTL, TL, and other freight.
- Monitor trailer utilization to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Track inbound and outbound shipments, maintain accurate system records, and report on shipping performance.
- Handle incoming RMAs and coordinate with the Reynosa, MX shipping/receiving team as needed.
- Manage the flow of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring drivers are scheduled and processed efficiently.
- Act as the main point of contact for dock activities, prioritizing loading and unloading with warehouse staff.
- Log and track shipments to support accurate inventory and delivery records.
- Collaborate with supervisors and leads to optimize workflow, meet productivity targets, and maintain a safe work environment.
- Monitor warehouse organization and compliance, upholding safety and operational standards.
- Communicate with carriers, brokers, and 3PLs to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
- Serve as a liaison between shipping, warehouse, customer service, and transportation teams.
- Support DC leadership in executing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and driving process improvements.
