Job Purpose: The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for conducting cycle counts and bin location audits, assisting in researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies, and working with the Inventory Supervisor/Manager in any inventory related functions concerning taking inventory of materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in stockroom, warehouse, or yard.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Performs physical counts of inventory items in order to maintain accurate inventory.
- Counts and reconciles randomly chosen or selected part numbers and/or locations on a daily basis.
- Accurately inputs inventory control data to ensure inventory integrity.
- Completes necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on time.
- Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager.
- Spends 80% or more of the workday performing inventory related activities in the warehouse using an RF Gun or Tablet; 20% or less is spent working at a computer terminal.
- Clerks are required to travel to and assist at other facilities as needed.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ensures compliance with inventory processes and procedures, and contractual obligations.
- Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets.
- Utilize computer terminals to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.
- Minimum 1‑3 months related experience and/or training in Inventory Control.
- Minimum 1‑3 months related experience and/or training in a warehouse environment.
- Experience operating power equipment such as Reach Truck, EPJ, cherry picker, or order picker.
- Experience using WMS software is a plus (Synapse preferred).
- PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read and write emails.
- Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets.
- Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
