2nd Shift: Mon-Fri 4pm-12:30am (Hours may vary depending on business needs)
Compensation: $80K-$85K
Job PurposeThe basic functions of the Assistant Warehouse Manager involve managing the daily operations of the warehouse on the assigned shift, including scheduling warehouse worker hours, inbound and outbound loading, inventory control, maintenance of warehouse equipment, and warehouse housekeeping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure the facility performs yard checks, including checking all trailers at dock doors and in yard for empties and loads.
- Ensure the yard has no trailers parked in a way that hinders movement of other trailers.
- Ensure all paperwork from the previous day's work is complete and distributed to the proper departments.
- Oversee loading/unloading of all carriers.
- Ensure trailers are emptied and available for local drivers.
- Conduct periodic dock safety checks.
- Track warehouse customer inventory by computer and complete physical inventory counts.
- Ensure timely processing of warehouse customer orders, bill preparation, and inventory control.
- Oversee the picking of orders from the warehouse and the staging or loading of the orders.
- Ensure proper scheduling of carriers to pick up warehouse customer orders as directed by the customers.
- Manage warehouse personnel, schedule work hours, handle personnel issues, conduct performance reviews, and administer all disciplinary actions.
- Ensure training of forklift operators on procedures for handling company freight and specific customer freight requirements.
- Manage warehouse space and maximize usage of warehouse layout.
- Ensure the warehouse is kept clean and organized at all times, and that all food safety requirements are met.
- Warehouse management experience with background in inventory control systems.
- Solid experience in Excel, data entry, and general computer skills.
- Experience managing a staff of 30 or more employees across multiple shifts.
- Ability to maintain a clean and orderly warehouse operation.

- Flexibility to work overtime when needed and supply coverage to other shifts.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced warehouse.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of management experience.
- Experience in warehousing management.
- College degree preferred or extensive background in transportation warehouse management.
- Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; and draw and interpret bar graphs, calculate standard deviation, probability, and conduct statistical analysis.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to determine root cause of a problem and establish corrective action.
- Occasional lifting or moving of up to 60 pounds.
- Full shift (8 hours) standing required.
- Ability to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
- Physically healthy as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of controlled substance use.
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles; noise level ranging from quiet to moderately loud.
