Job Purpose

The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for conducting cycle counts and bin location audits, assisting in researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies, and working with the Inventory Supervisor/Manager in any inventory related functions concerning materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in the stockroom, warehouse, or yard.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform physical counts of inventory items to maintain accurate inventory.
  • Count and reconcile randomly chosen part numbers or locations daily.
  • Accurately input inventory control data to ensure integrity.
  • Complete necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on time.
  • Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies and recommend remedial actions.
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager.
  • Spends 80%+ of workday performing inventory activities in the warehouse using an RF Gun or Tablet; ≤20% at computer terminal.
  • Travel to and assist at other facilities as needed.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ensure compliance with inventory processes, procedures, and contractual obligations.
  • Physically count articles/products on shelves, racks and pallets.
  • Utilize computer terminals to account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1-3 months related experience or training in Inventory Control.
  • Minimum 1-3 months related experience or training in warehouse environment.
  • Experience operating power equipment such as Reach Truck, EPJ or cherry picker/order picker.
  • Experience using WMS software a plus (Synapse preferred).
  • PC literate with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access Database.
Education And/or Experience Required
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and write emails.
  • Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
  • Forklift certification a plus.
Language Skills Sets
  • Effectively communicate, read, write, and speak English.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and technical procedures; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to solve practical problems and manage variable situations; interpret instructions; determine root cause and corrective action.
Computer Skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite for writing emails and creating reports.
Physical Demands
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 55 pounds.
  • Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
  • Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk.
  • Work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
  • Work under stressful situations; maintain accuracy and concentration on multiple tasks.
  • Read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
  • Speak and communicate clearly over telephone.
  • In excellent physical health per physician; no controlled substances evidence.
Work Environment
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles; noise ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
