EMS Dispatcher

Responsibilities

• Answer all incoming phone lines categorized as “dispatch” and receive, process, and dispatch emergent and non‑emergent ambulance requests, schedule pre‑scheduled requests and special events for the company, and process other information as necessary.
• Process emergent and non‑emergent ambulance requests according to Standard Operating Procedure.
• Enter and update the Computer‑Aided Dispatch (“CAD”) system with complete and accurate information.
• Determine the appropriate unit for emergent and non‑emergency requests.
• Provide the highest level of customer service to facilities, patients, and other external contacts.
• Process any paperwork and/or information received from external and/or internal contacts.
• Aid in completing daily and month‑end paperwork in reference to number of calls, times, etc.
• Report to work at the assigned time in accordance with uniform standards.
• Report to work in emergency call‑in situations as needed.
• Follow all procedures, policies, rules, and regulations of the company.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Demonstrate professional, ethical management behavior.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Computer literate.
• Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, in English, with all levels of staff.
