Requirements - Bachelor’s Degree in elementary education, secondary education, adult education, or a specific discipline like mathematics is required. Bilingual skills are helpful, but not required.

Description

Position Summary: The ABE/GED Instructor provides individual and small group instruction to adult education students at the Jefferson County Jail. The instructor plans, documents, and evaluates student progress toward goals. The instructor provides direct, on-site instruction to assist students in achieving their individual learning goal. The ideal candidate can communicate effectively and confidentially with students and jail staff. A successful candidate will be required to pass all security clearances.

Employer: Jefferson County Literacy Council (JCLC), 218 Wisconsin Drive, Jefferson, WI 53549; position requires daily travel to Jefferson County Jail, 411 S. Center Street, Jefferson, WI 53549

Hours: Part-time mornings and/or afternoons; 7-14 hrs. per week , 2 - three hour instruction blocks with 1 hour planning for each scheduled work day. This is a flexible year-round position.

Salary & Benefits

Wage : $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
