Integrated Process Engineers & Constructors, Inc. (IPEC) specializes in engineering, design and manufacturing of modular process systems for the pharmaceutical, biotech, beverage and food industries. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Mechanical Engineer (ME). This is a salaried position that pays $75,000-$110,000/year depending on education and experience.
The ME will focus on engineering and design of mechanical systems, working in the IPEC Project Engineering Group. Key responsibilities include selection of components that make up the mechanical systems, oversight of mechanical designers creating fabrication models for the mechanical systems, reviewing and approving design documents, coordination of submittal/approval of design documents with customers and monitoring construction of the modular systems by IPEC fabricators.
Responsibilities- Submittal of accurate engineering documentation that is compliant with appropriate design practices.
- Provide bill of materials, project information, and other related manufacturing requirements to effectively communicate expectations with IPEC fabrication and procurement personnel.
- Review designs and suggest recommendations to best satisfy the customer's requirements and company's manufacturability.
- Assist in the creation of cost estimates for changes that occur during the engineering and design phase.
- Working closely with other engineers and designers.
- Work with customers during the Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
- Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure design milestones are met.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- BS in mechanical, chemical engineering or related field.
- Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; with minimum 3 years of mechanical design or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in design of food, beverage, chemical or pharmaceutical equipment is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, manuals, drawings, procedures, or other instruction furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Knowledge of engineering principles, mechanics, thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.
- Ability to oversee multiple projects in various stages of completion.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve design issues.
