Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Operating Room RN for a 13‑week travel assignment at a hospital in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Location & DurationFort Atkinson, Wisconsin – 13‑week travel assignment.
Required Qualifications- At least one year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- ACLS, PALS, or ENPC certifications
- Or Nursing Certification (CNOR)
- Other certifications and licenses as may be required
- Prepare the operating room and ensure instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready for each surgical procedure.
- Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and ensuring comfort and safety during surgery.
- Maintain a sterile field, adhering to infection control and sterile technique protocols.
- Anticipate surgical team needs and provide instruments, supplies, and support promptly to maintain workflow.
- Monitor patient’s condition during surgery, document significant changes, and notify the surgeon.
- Handle surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring proper use, sterilization, and disposal.
- Manage specimen collection, labeling, and transport per facility protocols.
- Document all aspects of patient care in the perioperative setting accurately and thoroughly.
- Participate in hand‑off communication during pre‑ and post‑operative phases to ensure continuity of care.
- Assist in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases, following infection control and turnover protocols.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and standards.
- Follow hospital safety rules, including proper use of PPE and infection prevention measures.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; proficiency in PC skills.
- Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, bend, and work in a standing position.
- Ability to work effectively with a range of personnel, maintain a positive attitude, and professional demeanor.
- Fine motor skills for manipulation of instruments and equipment.
- Mental resilience to handle frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, and manage irregular schedules.
