Telecommunications Engineer – Level III

About the role

Kaimetrix is seeking a Telecommunications Engineer – Level III to support the design, testing, upgrade, and integration of enterprise telecommunication networks, systems, and equipment in a secure, mission‑critical environment. This role performs advanced engineering tasks and contributes to the successful implementation and optimization of telecommunications infrastructure.

• Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cables in accordance with industry standards
• Perform installation, modification, repair, and removal of cable infrastructure components
• Conduct end‑to‑end cable testing to verify proper functionality and performance
• Troubleshoot and repair cable infrastructure issues to restore service and maintain reliability
• Document and catalog all actions performed on cable systems to ensure accurate infrastructure records
• Read and interpret engineering diagrams for buildings and cable plant infrastructure
• Ensure cable installations and modifications align with technical requirements and standards
• Design, test, upgrade, and integrate new or existing telecommunication networks in accordance with business and mission requirements
• Document all aspects of the engineering process, including build, configuration, testing, and deployment activities
• Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard telecommunication networks and systems
• Coordinate with architecture teams to evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to network infrastructure
• Troubleshoot complex telecommunication issues and support resolution of system performance challenges
• Collaborate with senior technical staff and end users to successfully complete engineering projects
• Provide technical guidance and may supervise junior personnel supporting telecommunications operations

• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in telecommunications engineering or related IT infrastructure roles
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience

• CompTIA CASP+, CCNP

• Active Tier 3 (T3) background investigation or ability to obtain and maintain
