You will serve as a ELECTRICAL ENGINEER in the Facility & Infrastructure Mgmt Dept, Facility & Plant Maintenance Division of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

GS-12 requirements

To qualify for the GS-12 position, Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Engineering experience in the design, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex facility processes, aircraft processes, and plant equipment.
  • Working knowledge of related branches of engineering such as electrical, electronic, material, industrial, structural, and chemical disciplines.
  • Proficiency in the preparation of technical directives and skill in communicating complex technical matters clearly in writing and oral briefings.
  • Knowledge and experience in preparing proposals, cost estimates, and project schedules, including familiarity with Navy, DOD, or Naval Aviation Systems administrative procedures and budgetary processes.
  • Experience planning, coordinating, and reviewing project tasks with other engineers and technicians to accomplish engineering projects.
  • Experience preparing, explaining, and justifying project proposals and technical recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Applying new technical developments in the field to solve difficult and complex engineering problems.
  • Proficiency with automatic data acquisition and control systems, electromechanical systems, and manual or computer-generated drafting practices.
GS-13 requirements

To qualify for the GS-13 position your resume must demonstrate that you have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

  • Program management and engineering experience gained in design and maintenance of complex facility processes, aircraft processes and plant equipment.
  • Working knowledge of related branches of engineering such as electrical, electronic, material, industrial, structural, and chemical disciplines.
  • Proficiency in preparation and use of technical directives and skill in communicating orally and in writing as a professional technical expert on complex technical matters.
  • Knowledge and experience in preparing proposals, cost estimates, project schedules, and related program management functions such as administrative relationships, the budgetary process, and the interfaces within Navy, DOD, Naval Aviation Systems organizations, and field activities.
  • Managing, planning, organizing, coordinating, and reviewing the work of other engineers and technicians in accomplishing complex engineering projects.
  • Making, justifying, and defending long-range, sometimes controversial, proposals.
  • Applying new technical developments in the field in order to solve emerging and highly complex technical problems.
  • Proficiency with automatic data acquisition and control systems and their relationship to electromechanical systems; manual and computer-generated drafting practices.
