Lynch Consultants is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our financial management team supporting a federal government comptroller organization. The role includes processing invoices in a timely manner, reviewing and compiling reports, updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and working closely with Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) to ensure tasks are completed correctly. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the success of an important government mission while developing your expertise in federal financial management and fiscal execution.
WorkLocation and Schedule
- Hybrid work schedule. Associates are required to live in the National Capital Region and be available for meetings in Ft. Belvoir, VA.
Salary will be no higher than $63k/yr.
Required Qualifications - MUST HAVE- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have active SECRET Clearance
- Must have a BA/BS Degree
- Must have 2+ years of related Federal Financial Management experience
- Must live in greater Washington D.C. region
- Process and submit miscellaneous pay invoices in the DAI (Defense Agencies Initiative) accounting system.
- Verify invoices are signed, certified, and electronically date stamp invoices.
- Analyze DAI reports to verify funds have been obligated to the correct vendor.
- Reconcile tally sheets based on invoices submitted and reports pulled from DAI.
- Compile weekly reports, assign analysts to review, and provide comments about outstanding invoices; send completed reports to DFAS for review and compile a separate report and provide to team lead.
- Edit and update Standard Operating Procedures by reviewing and incorporating aspects of the DOD Financial Management Regulation (FMR).
- Compile monthly interest requests and submit to DFAS.
- Research, assign, and document pre-validation and DFAS Merged Account (DMACT) requests from DFAS.
- Monitor and update payment terms for Citibank invoices daily to avoid paying interest.
- Review supporting documents tied to debit card transactions and clearing the individual charges in the Debit Card Database.
- Ability to support year-end closeout activities.
- Maintain financial tracking systems.
- Familiarity with DAI, DCAS, TCIS, and PIEE (Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment).
- You should be comfortable working independently, handling multiple priorities, and applying sound judgment in support of financial operations and execution activities.
