Job Title: IT Systems Engineer

Location: On-site Fort Belvoir

Clearance: Must have an active Secret Clearance

This position provides systems engineering support to the US Army for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) cases. This individual will work with a foreign government partners, focusing on the integration, testing, and sustainment of complex Information Technology (IT) and network systems. The System Engineer will work closely with both U.S. and foreign personnel to ensure successful implementation and operation of critical capabilities.

This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate cross-cultural interactions.

• System Integration & Testing:
  Participate in the integration and testing of systems, ensuring interoperability and adherence to established standards. This includes developing test plans, conducting tests, analyzing results, and documenting findings.
• Requirements Management:
  Assist in the elicitation, analysis, documentation, and management of system requirements from the foreign government partner. Ensure traceability of requirements throughout the system lifecycle.
• System Architecture:
  Contribute to the development and maintenance of system architectures, considering factors such as performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Technical Documentation:
  Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), test reports, and user manuals. Documentation must be clear, concise, and appropriate for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Foreign Government Liaison:
  Serve as a technical point of contact for the foreign government partner, facilitating communication and collaboration. This may involve conducting meetings, providing briefings, and responding to technical inquiries.
• Problem Resolution:
  Investigate and resolve technical issues, working with subject matter experts and the foreign government partner to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Configuration Management:
  Participate in configuration management activities, ensuring proper version control and documentation of system changes.
• Sustainment Support:
  Provide support for system sustainment activities, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades.
• Compliance:
  Ensure systems comply with relevant security regulations, standards, and policies.
• Travel:
  Travel to foreign locations for training, integration, and support activities (duration and frequency dependent on project needs).

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s Degree preferred or 8+ years of equivalent experience.
• Experience:
  • Translating user requirements into recommendations for IT system improvements.
  • Managing datasets and performing basic data visualizations.
  • Tracking IT system usage and developing best practices.
  • Experience with requirements management tools (DOORS etc).
  • Familiarity with system modeling languages.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and security principles.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
