Position: TS/SCI Systems Administrator Intermediate
Long term contract: Base year 1 started April 2024.
Location: Ft. Belvoir, VA – fully on site
JOB DESCRIPTION
Insight Global is looking for a Mid-level Systems Administrator to support one of our large federal clients on a long-term DoD contract. This person will need to possess a TS/SCI DoD clearance and work in person on customer site. Compensation ranges from $35.17/hr to 46.29/hr job duties include but are not limited to:
- Under general supervision, responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining operating system workstations and servers, including web servers, in support of business processing requirements.
- Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
- Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
- Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
- Supports media management through internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services.
- Develops and promotes standard operating procedures.
- Conducts routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
- Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.
- Perform systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks. Desktop system management responsibilities involving account monitoring, security, Operating System (OS) installation, and other local area system administration related functions.
- Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.
- Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
- Provide support to IT systems including day‑to‑day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problem.
- Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
- Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.
- Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems.
- Install/load operating system and application software.
- Isolate and resolve of hardware and software problems involving the applications, the operating system, the hardware, the communications infrastructure, or any combination thereof.
- Troubleshoot, maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
- Integrate new technologies into new and existing systems including the transition and migration of corporate systems.
- Position may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity.
- Travel may be required to support the mission.
Shift: M-F 2:00pm-10:30pm (5 days)
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE- Associate's degree and 7 years of experience OR Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience.
- Ability to provide in-depth experience in trouble‑shouting IT systems.
- Ability to provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance.
- 8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification.
- CE MSCA 2016, Microsoft Azure Administrator Certification or equivalent (must obtain full AZ104 MS Azure Administrator within 180 days from start date).
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer facing experience.
