Job Description

The objective is to utilize PdM GENM-A as the resource to lead the modernization, expansion, enhancement, and upgrades of all types of IT infrastructure, IT systems, IT support systems, communications systems, and associated infrastructure, hardware, and software known as COMPMOD for the Army’s CONUS installations. This effort will allow the Government to obtain current IT technology and upgrade legacy IT technology to meet mission needs on an enterprise level as part of the Army Unified Network Plan.

During the survey phase, the team will survey all applicable GENM-A capabilities being deployed at each installation:

  • Non-Classified Installation
  • Campus Area Network (NIPR)
  • Secret Classified Installation
  • Campus Area Network (Secured Internet Protocol Router (SIPR) Foundational)
  • Wi-Fi Voice Modernization (VMOD)
  • Mission Command from Afar (MCfA) – as applicable
  • Outside Plant (OSP) Inside Plant (ISP) Installation
  • Service Node (ISN) Army Enterprise Transport (AET)

This role performs highly detailed technical tasks, leads Network Installation Technician field teams in the performance of site activities, and is responsible for designing, deploying, and managing complex IT solutions to meet the organization’s technological needs. It requires a strong background in system implementation architecture and a deep understanding of various IT infrastructure components.

Educational and Background Requirements

For a SAP Complex Assembly Manufacturing Solution (CAMS) Functional Expert, must have:

  • 5 years verifiable experience with the CAMS software module (or equivalent commercial SAP module) in any industrial setting – including two years of Army Industrial Base Operations (IBO) SAP experience.

Required Skills and Responsibilities
  • Planning and completion of complex and detailed technical projects from survey and engineering to site implementation.
  • Develop and maintain high standards of installation and service, and assist with leading, training, and counseling network installation technicians toward high performance.
  • Serve as a technical knowledge resource to project managers and field technicians.
  • Work directly with project managers as the first line of communication for the field installation teams supporting the PM’s project(s).
  • Take responsibility for the development and quality assessment of all field deliverables prior to being formally submitted to the SME or project manager.
  • Maintain accountability for the task-oriented work efforts of project assigned personnel.
  • Help ensure engineering schedules are met or exceeded.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into comprehensive IT implementation designs.
  • Lead the implementation and deployment of IT systems, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Responsible for physical onsite network surveys to determine the engineering solution for each project assigned.
  • Responsible for providing client‑site network installation support of hardware, including installation of entire service delivery nodes, as prescribed by Site Engineering Solution (SES) documentation.
  • Prepare and provide complex site reports, documents, diagrams, and Visio drawings as required to meet customer deliverable requirements. Train and certify others to develop the same proficiency.
  • Provide input to the field technicians group to assist with the formation of procedural documentation for field tasks—BER testing, platform configurations, deliverables, procedures, etc.
  • Perform configuration of installed technology, which may include cryptographic, MPLS, optical, and timing equipment and supporting systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting and fault isolation to bring installed equipment to functional state. Coordinate with network engineers to facilitate installation testing and acceptance.
  • Provide training on completing site surveys to create detailed and accurate site survey reports.
  • Help assure that team members are adequately trained and equipped with the tools necessary to succeed.
