As a Cloud Engineer specializing in Terraform and Git Lab, you will play a pivotal role in automating the provisioning, scaling, and lifecycle management of cloud resources across an AWS environment. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will center on designing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ensuring that cloud environments are modular and reusable.

• Architect and refine Git Lab CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment workflows, enabling engineering teams to deliver applications rapidly and reliably.
• Embed security and compliance checks directly into these pipelines to enforce practices and maintain robust governance over all infrastructure changes. Leverage advanced features of Git Lab, such as branch protection, code reviews, and environment variable management, to implement Git Ops workflows that keep infrastructure state consistent and auditable.
• Use scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Power Shell to automate custom tasks and integrate with APIs.
• Utilize monitoring and resource tagging strategies within Terraform to optimize cloud performance and control costs.
• Leverage containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, to support microservices and cloud‑native deployments, thereby enhancing scalability and reliability of the environments you manage.

• Active / Interim Secret clearance or higher
• 3+ years of Terraform experience with deep understanding of Terraform state management (local, remote, Terraform Cloud)
• Experience with Git Lab for code hosting and CI/CD pipeline management
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, or Power Shell)
• Security+ certified or equivalent in regard to DoD IT II requirements
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services (IAM, VPC networking, compute), highly preferred
• Ability/willingness to work 1‑3 days onsite per week in either Fort Belvoir, VA or Aberdeen, MD

• Ability to create and manage custom .gitlab-ci.yml files, runners, caching, and environment variables
• Experience with government consulting.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for microservices and cloud‑native deployments.
• Experience integrating policy‑as‑code tools (e.g., OPA, Sentinel) into CI/CD workflows.
• Familiarity with Git Ops workflows and branch protection strategies.
• Knowledge of automated monitoring and resource tagging for cost optimization.
• Experience embedding security (Dev Sec Ops ) into CI/CD pipelines.

Location-based pay range: $86,400—$176,200 USD for the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland.
