DutiesHelp
- Advises J6 Senior Leaders on long-term IT planning, forecasts, objectives, and priorities.
- Serves as key advisor in formulating Agency-wide IT policy, strategy, and program initiatives.
- Prepares executive briefings, information papers, and speeches on complex IT topics.
- Leads coordination of the J6 Operating Plan and J6 input into the DLA Strategic Plan.
- Represents and makes commitments for J6 Senior Leaders at DOD, inter-agency, and HQ meetings
- Keeps J6 leadership and key stakeholders informed on critical issues affecting their mission.
- Advises leadership on problem solving, process improvement, and customer responsiveness.
- Promotes operational effectiveness of IT specialists across HQ and field activities.
- Conducts studies on organizational concepts, operating relationships, and federal IT trends.
- Maintains awareness of HQ and field IT issues to resolve pertinent mission-related challenge.

Education:
Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience.
- Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.
Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: - Qualifying experience includes serving as a senior IT advisor providing expert policy interpretation, strategic planning, and program oversight across enterprise IT functions.
- Experience involves leading cross-functional matrix teams on complex IT projects, preparing executive briefings for senior leadership, and evaluating legislative or regulatory guidance to shape agency-wide IT policy.
- Demonstrated experience re-engineering IT work processes and coordinating operational plans across headquarters and field activities.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
EducationSubstitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
