Take2 Consulting is seeking an experienced Windows Engineer to support a long-term, mission-critical federal defense program at Fort Belvoir, VA. This role operates in a fast-paced research, development, and operations lab supporting a 24x7x365 community. The engineer will provide hands-on Windows engineering, administration, security hardening, virtualization, and operational support across a complex data center environment.
What You'll Do- Design, engineer, test, deploy, and support Windows solutions based on customer and mission requirements.
- Integrate Windows platforms with systems, networking, virtualization, storage, and other data center technologies.
- Install and integrate complex software suites and troubleshoot server hardware, applications, and software integration issues.
- Optimize system operations, resource utilization, and capacity planning.
- Support daily data center operations, system health monitoring, storage, networking, and customer issues.
- Review and implement Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and maintain system security posture.
- Administer, troubleshoot, and engineer solutions involving ACAS and McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO), including HBSS components.
- Support SCCM/MECM packaging, Windows Server and desktop environments, patching, scanning, and updates.
- Configure and maintain virtualization technologies such as VMware and/or Nutanix.
- Develop technical recommendations, project plans, risk assessments, customer presentations, SOPs, work instructions, as-built documentation, and training materials.
- Active Secret security clearance. Candidates may hold up to a TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, Master's degree with 6+ years, or equivalent relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree.
- DoD IAT Level II certification, such as CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent.
- Relevant Windows vendor certification, such as Microsoft Windows Server Administration or equivalent.
- Hands-on Windows Server and desktop engineering/support experience.
- Experience with SCCM/MECM, virtualization configuration and maintenance, and VMware and/or Nutanix.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills, work ethic, and ability to collaborate in an established technical team.
- Ability to work onsite at Fort Belvoir, VA five days per week.
This is a long-term consulting opportunity supporting a prime federal defense program with four additional option years. You'll work directly in a technically challenging R&D environment where your Windows engineering and cybersecurity expertise will have visible mission impact. The position also offers a streamlined interview process and an anticipated start timeline of approximately two weeks for qualified candidates.
