Application Engineer

Requirements Must have:

• We are looking for at least seven years of relevant experience.
• We require a BS or BA, or four additional years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• An active Secret clearance is required, or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• We need an 8140-certified professional, with examples including Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, SSCP, or a higher-level certification.
• Preferred certifications include GICSP and CompTIA Security+.
• The role requires the ability to commute to Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
• The position is onsite.

• We will rely on you as the primary technical support lead for one or more core applications.
• You will install, configure, maintain, and support all software products used by the applications we support.
• You will manage software version deployments, upgrades, and patching activities.
• You will determine application-specific firewall and network needs.
• You will provide hands-on support for data center migration efforts.
• You will administer interfaces and APIs, including setup and ongoing support.
• You will serve as the main technical resource for break/fix issues to help sustain high availability.
• You will support application code releases across pre-production and production environments.
• You will assist with application requirements tied to organizational transformation initiatives.
• You will lead implementation of application-based STIGs and SRGs.
• You will produce the required STIG/SRG artifacts to support compliance efforts.
• You will investigate, troubleshoot, and remediate cybersecurity vulnerabilities identified through routine scanning.

We are Caplock Security, and we are seeking an experienced Application Engineer to act as the primary technical support lead for one or more core applications. In this contingent hire role, employment depends on the successful award of the contract. You will work closely with server administrators and database administrators while maintaining a clear separation of duties, and you will support full application lifecycle management, release execution, security compliance, and infrastructure support across pre-production and production environments.

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 to $170,000 per year, along with benefits including 401(k) matching, dental insurance, health insurance, paid time off, professional development assistance, and vision insurance. This is an in-person position based in Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
