Physical Security Specialist (nuclear

This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.

You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:

• Coordinating and implementing physical security operations, tactics, and procedures designed to protect highly sensitive national assets, critical infrastructure, or high-value materials.
• Analyzing and assessing physical security policies and regulatory frameworks to identify operational gaps, evaluate risk factors, and draft recommendations for policy updates or system improvements.
• Preparing and delivering structured technical briefings, analytical reports, and risk assessments to senior leadership and diverse stakeholders regarding security posture, compliance, and strategic alignment.
• Planning, coordinating, and executing operational security exercises or testing protocols to validate system effectiveness, identify vulnerabilities, and ensure readiness against defined threat scenarios.
• Interpreting and applying complex security directives at an intermediate or headquarters level to align multi-site programs, draft standard operating procedures, and coordinate physical security initiatives across organizational boundaries.
