The Be A Mentor Program pairs caring adult volunteers from the community with youth in one-to-one relationships. Mentors give of their time to be a friend, answer questions, and provide guidance. They serve as a role model, advocate, and resource, helping youth develop their full potential both in and outside the classroom.
By becoming a mentor, you positively impact the lives of local youth with interest, compassion, and consistency. Together we create a supportive village and community for our youth to thrive.
This is an in-person group mentoring program. You will spend most of your time in a group of fellow mentors and mentees exploring, talking, and learning about their needs.
One‑on‑one mentoring gives youths more opportunities for success regardless of their background. It is especially important for youth who may not have consistent adults in their lives to connect with a mentor.
All mentors are required to complete a background check and training. The mentoring coordinator will be available for support throughout the program. We ask that you commit to at least one hour per week for a full calendar year. Consistency is important to build trust between you and your mentee.
