As a Systems Engineer Advisor you will help manage the design of server and application architectures, manage the administrative operation and maintenance of server hardware and software, maintain system security, establish practices and procedures, monitor usage statistics and logs, and remediate attempts to penetrate or corrupt server files. You will develop baseline configurations, direct modification of configuration settings, develop troubleshooting and incident response procedures, troubleshoot system‑related problems, provide team leadership and guidance to less experienced administrators, remain current in operating systems/software analysis, recommend future direction or projects to management, and provide expertise in the development or modification of software programs and applications to enhance an operating system.
Whatyou’ll need to succeed
- Experience with server virtualization (VMWare and/or Microsoft Hyper‑V)
- ITIL v3 Foundation certification preferred
- Full technical knowledge of all phases of systems engineering
- Excellent communication skills; tact, effective listening and follow‑through
- Technical guidance and leadership to less experienced engineers
- Detail oriented and organized; accurate information systems work
- Ability to review the work of others and detect errors or needed modifications
- Ability to identify and resolve problems or inadequacies of systems engineering
- 5+ years of related experience
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory administration and Windows Server platforms (2016/2019/2022)
- Experience with Power Shell Scripting and systems automation
- Experience troubleshooting for technicians and/or end users using Service Now ticketing system
- Strong experience with server virtualization (VMWare and/or Microsoft Hyper‑V)
- Participate in project planning and management, providing technical guidance and expertise as needed
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence across diverse audiences
- Competent to work at a high technical level on all phases of systems engineering activities
- Excellent communication and briefing skills; tact, effective listening and follow‑through
- Experience in creating effective technical documentation
- Detail oriented and organized; accurate information systems work
- Ability to multi‑task and be strategic, creative, and innovative in a fast‑paced matrix team environment
- Stay up to date with latest technologies and trends in MECM and related systems and provide recommendations for future improvements
- On Customer Site – USA NC Fort Bragg
- US Citizenship required
