Job Description & How to Apply Below

Overview

We are looking for a reliable, energetic, and child-focused Lead Teacher to join our Little Learners team. This role is perfect for someone who loves early childhood development and enjoys a mix of hands-on teaching and behind-the-scenes planning.

The heart of this position is building a safe, fun, and educational environment for kids—and their parents! Since parents remain in the classroom, you’ll need to be as comfortable coaching adults as you are engaging with toddlers.

The Basics
  • Pay: $11.00 per hour

  • Hours: 20 hours per week

  • Required In-Class

    Hours:

    Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

  • Flexible

    Hours:

The remaining 14 hours per week are flexible and can be completed on your own schedule (planning, scheduling, and admin).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Classroom: Facilitate engaging activities for children during the Tuesday/Thursday sessions.

  • Parent Partnership: Communicate effectively with parents in the room. You’ll be their guide, helping them engage with their children while firmly and kindly holding boundaries to keep the class on track.

  • Curriculum & Theme Planning: Get creative! You’ll be responsible for the "background work"—developing weekly themes and a simple, age-appropriate curriculum.

  • Logistics & Field Trips: Take the lead on scheduling classes and organizing fun local field trips for the group.

  • Reliability: Our families count on us. You must be dependable and punctual for all scheduled class times.

Who You Are
  • Kid-Focused: You have a genuine background in working with children and understand their developmental needs.

  • A Natural Leader: You can command a room with a smile and handle the "people person" side of the job with ease.

  • Organized: You’re a self-starter who can manage your 14 flexible hours to ensure themes and trips are planned well in advance.

  • Consistent: You understand that for little learners, consistency is key. You show up ready to go every single time.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience working with young children (daycare, preschool, or similar settings).

  • Strong communication skills (both for "toddler talk" and professional parent interactions).

  • Ability to work independently on administrative and planning tasks.
