Description

Linchpin Solutions is seeking a dynamic and experienced Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) Instructor to support the Joint Interoperability and Data Link Training Center. This position provides advanced Tactical Data Link instruction, curriculum development, exercise support, and interoperability expertise to U.S., allied, and coalition forces.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of the JT-301 course with extensive operational JICO and multi-TDL experience, prior military instructor experience, and the technical expertise needed to prepare operational forces to employ Joint Tactical Operations Interface capabilities effectively.

Clearance: Active DoD Secret Clearance required.

Work Schedule: Full-time Onsite M-F

Schedules may be adjusted to support extended training periods, weekends, practical exercises, and courses conducted on federal holidays.

CONUS and OCONUS travel will be required to support Mobile Training Teams, allied training, exercises, and other mission requirements.

Role Overview

The JICO Instructor supports the Joint Chiefs of Staff proponent for the Joint Tactical Operations Interface Training Program, helping ensure operational forces can fully employ Joint Tactical Operations Interface Systems.

This role supports the planning, development, coordination, delivery, and management of advanced Joint Tactical Data Link training for U.S., allied, and coalition air and ground forces. Responsibilities include formal academic instruction, courseware development, curriculum maintenance, Mobile Training Team delivery, practical exercises, allied certification, interoperability analysis, and joint exercise support.

The instructor serves as a lead instructor and Subject Matter Expert for resident, distance-learning, and Mobile Training Team courses. The position also supports emerging mission-area systems by conducting front-end analyses, identifying training requirements, coordinating with program offices, and developing new courses and instructional capabilities.

The broader training program annually delivers approximately 30 Joint and U.S. courses at CONUS and OCONUS locations, supporting approximately 2,000 graduates, as well as approximately 30 Allied Training courses for 500 students from 10 allied nations.

Specific Skillset
  • Advanced knowledge of Joint Tactical Data Link operations, architectures, doctrine, and network management
  • Proficiency performing or instructing JICO, JICC Watch Officer, JTDC, Multi-TDL Network Manager, and Communications Expert functions
  • Expertise in VMF over CNR, DACAS, and other mission sets
  • Expertise in Live Virtual Construct development, C2/TDL systems, or Network planning
  • Experience operating C2 and TDL systems, including BC3, MSCT, TDF, CAC2S, ADSI, JRE, and MOJO
  • Ability to prepare and review OPTASK LINK messages and plan, modify, coordinate, and assess Link 16 networks
  • Multi-TDL architecture analysis, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
  • Development and execution of practical exercises, simulations, vignettes, capstone events, white-cell activities, and positional assessments
  • Curriculum development, instructional design, multimedia enhancement, and electronic classroom delivery
  • Critical thinking skills to support Front-End Analysis of emerging systems, doctrine, platforms, and training requirements
