How a Systems Engineer Senior will make an impactAt GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a systems engineer advisor you will perform design of server and application architectures. Performs the administrative operation and maintenance of server hardware and software. Maintains system security and executes practices and procedures; monitors usage statistics and logs; monitors and remedies attempts to penetrate or corrupt server files. Provide technical support for Enterprise level systems and services;
from planning & design through deployment. These efforts include the full range of systems infrastructure engineering design; enterprise architecture standards; prototyping; integration; including; but not limited to; concept development; planning; requirements definition and analysis; systems design; integration; and deployment.
- Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in relevant field
- 5+ years of related experience
- Strong Experience of automation/orchestration utilizing Power Shell and Git
- Advanced understanding of modern server/workstation operating systems and network technologies sufficient to automate associated processes – Windows / RHEL
- Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services (i.e. Azure, AWS)
- Integration of Git, in continuous integration, continuous deployment Working knowledge of the networking stack (VLAN, subnets, ports, firewalls, routing and switching)
- Advanced knowledge of DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP and other TCP/IP protocols and services in support of the virtualization and storage technologies
- Strong Communications skills required
- Must be able to work individually and as part of a team
- TS/SCI Required

The likely salary range for this position is $101,546 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
