Our work depends on Joint Special Operations (SME) joining our team to develop exercise products and replicate and role play elements and entities as required to facilitate Commander's training objectives.
HOW A JOINT SPECIAL OPERATIONS (SME) WILL MAKE AN IMPACT- Analyzes user needs and performs research and functional analysis on a variety of projects
- Work as a member of the Exercise Design Cell, the Strategic Initiatives Group (SIG), or the Fires Training Section to develop challenging and innovative exercise scenarios
- Participate in a series of In Progress Reviews (IPRs) for each exercise to determine unit training objectives and then develop vignettes and injects to address those objectives
- Work with other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to include Intelligence SMEs, Operations SMEs and Publicly Available Information and Social Media (PAI/SM) SMEs to develop exercises for Army, Navy, and Air Force special operations units
- Work with Unit Trusted Agents to ensure that units are fully prepared for upcoming deployments to austere and sensitive locations
- Leverage expertise gained through staff experience in senior military staff positions to prepare the military leaders of tomorrow
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree
- Required Experience: 15+ years of related experience and graduate of the U.S. Army Special Forces Officer Qualifying Course, U.S. Army Military Information Support Officers Qualifying Course, U.S. Army Civil Affairs Officer Qualifying Course, or U.S. Army Military Intelligence Officer Basic Leader Course (or other service equivalent) and a graduate of a U.S. military officer’s intermediate or senior level service school. Senior Warrant Officers with equivalent experience may also meet these requirements.

Skills:
Two years’ experience in Special Operations Forces Headquarters staff positions specifically performing joint operations. One year experience researching, planning, preparing, coordinating, and executing Mission Command Exercises focusing on Theater Special Operations Command (TSOC) and/or Joint Special Operations Task Force (JSOTF) scenarios to train SOF units. Graduate of a Joint Forces Staff College program or school such as the Joint and Combined Warfighting School (JPME-II) or Joint Advanced Warfighting School, Joint, Interagency, and Multinational Planner’s Course. - Security Clearance Level: Secret security clearance required

Skills and Abilities:
Special Operations experience, Planning expertise, Tactical and Operational Level Military experience. Knowledge of strategic-level theory, National Security Strategy, and National Military Strategy. Knowledge of the Joint Operating Environment. Knowledge of strategic national guidance as it relates to operational plans and campaigns, and how that further relates to tactical-level application and strategic relevance. Experience with intelligence systems acquisition capability, Advanced Military Intelligence relating to Irregular Warfare and/or SOF Operations.
Knowledge of regular versus irregular intelligence support, armed groups and irregular movements, intelligence support to Unconventional Warfare (UW), and UW campaign planning factors. - Preferred
