Senior Cloud Engineer – Overview & Job Responsibilities

Entarian is looking for a Cloud Engineer to support the ALTESS commercial cloud services infrastructure. ALTESS is a managed service provider for Army and DoD IT systems and plans to offer managed cloud services in public clouds, MS Azure, AWS and Private Clouds.

Position is contingent upon contract award and funding.

Salary range: $ – $

• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
• CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent IA cert)
  AND computing environment certification (e.g., MCSD Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, etc.)
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Computer Science or IT
• Mid to senior level Cloud Engineer experience that includes:
  • Strong experience with IPSEC/VPN, and other secure transport technologies as well as Border Gateway Protocol
  • Proven experience migrating on‑premises applications to the cloud
  • Understanding of network, storage, server, and application technologies
  • Strong knowledge of automation concepts, tools, and scripting languages (Ansible, Terraform, Python, Power Shell, Bash, Puppet, Chef, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of code repositories tools such as Git
  • Working knowledge of DoD STIGs, and IA Vulnerability Management (IAVM)
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline experience such as Jenkins, Travis CI, or AWS Code Deploy
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience effectively managing multiple large‑scale projects

• Senior IT experience in networking or equivalent experience
• Experience automating routine administrative tasks
