Program Overview
Peraton provides USSOCOM, its Component Commands, Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), deployed forces, CIO/J6, and end‑users with high‑quality IT platform and network services over an eight‑year period.
About the RoleThis IT Specialist position is located at Fort Bragg, NC. The specialist will provide Tier one and Tier two network, systems and phone support in accordance with the SIE OPORD, and administer network and communications systems such as routers, switches, VTCs, phones, laptops and other equipment.
Responsibilities- Creating monitoring reports and managing equipment logs, ensuring functionality of links.
- Coordinate IT administration and performance requirements with the networking and systems team, identify, analyze and document long‑range requirements, and administer resources related to the enterprise network.
- Prepare technical implementation plans that provide integrated solutions, milestones and critical paths.
- Research applicable standards and requirements documents to assure network compliance.
- Provide reasonable responsiveness in terms of IT systems performance (availability, reliability, throughput).
- Prepare activity and progress reports for the Government on IT systems performance initiatives.
- Provide full‑lifecycle support of LAN and WAN infrastructures.
- Follow designated network standards for the design, installation and maintenance of IT infrastructures.
- Install, tune, test, operate, monitor, upgrade, patch, break/fix, defend and manage WAN and LAN routing and switching hardware and software.
- Install, tune, test, operate, monitor, upgrade, patch, break/fix, defend and manage LAN/WAN system hardware and software, including PC hardware and software.
- Configure, install, operate, maintain, defend, troubleshoot, and repair LAN/WAN capabilities, including point‑to‑point circuits, satellite connectivity, dedicated Internet connections and broadband Internet connections, and make necessary additions or changes to associated routers, switches and encryption devices.
- Manage LAN PORs and IT programs of record (PORs) and virtual private networks.
- Configure and maintain classified and unclassified wireless LANs and their interconnection to wired infrastructure.
- Provision, operate, manage and monitor LAN/WAN VPN services to securely connect remote elements and mission partners across SIE and shared public IP networks, ensuring compliance with DoD, DIA, DISA, USCYBERCOM and USSOCOM policies.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot LAN/WAN voice, data and transmission networks, evaluating the effect of architectural changes.
- Implement network and security access, and manage network and security devices across the USSOCOM LAN/WAN networks.
- Collaborate and coordinate with external Government and commercial circuit providers to expedite the restoration of circuit outages.
- Provide mobile device support and CSfC kit support.
- Shift work and/or non‑standard work schedules may be required.
- BS with 8+ years experience, HS with 12+ years, or AA with 10+ years.
- DoD TS with SCI required.
- Required certification:
DoD 01‑M IAT II. - Solid technical skills and experience with a variety of network protocols, software and hardware.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Government hardware, software and network components.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytic and diagnostic skills and good communication abilities.
- CCNA certification highly desirable.
Target salary range: $80,000 – $128,000.
