Network Engineer - Intermediate

Overview

Network Engineer - Intermediate to support Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The CSFC Solutions Engineer assists in the development, configuration, testing, and evaluation of Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) solutions used to secure government customers' classified data and networks. The Engineer works individually and as part of a team to configure network, software, and hardware components and security appliances to meet DoD requirements.

Responsibilities include site installation, configuration, and configuration management, and the Engineer will provide on‑site training and support after installation. Working in accordance with NSA, DoD, and customer requirements and deploying at the classified/highly secure federal level, the role supports one of the nation's most critical cybersecurity initiatives.

• Architect and design Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) compliant solutions that meet NSA, DoD, and customer requirements.
• Develop and modify system scripts.
• Write standardized system documentation, including configuration guides, test procedures, test results, and training materials.
• Provide on‑site training to technical and non‑technical users on the daily use, management, and troubleshooting of the solution after installation.
• Support all Cross‑Domain solution requirements and collaborate with other operations departments to design approved infrastructure.
• Serve as the escalation contact during large outages for Tier 2 and Tier 3 systems.
• Author network engineering design packages, including detailed implementation project plans and procedures.
• Configure network, software, and hardware components to meet NSA CSfC, NIAP, and DoD requirements.
• Perform network design and systems integration; design, develop, implement, test, and maintain complex secure communications networks.
• Configure and manage PKI certificate authorities for CSfC solutions, including ISC Cert Agent, MS Windows Server, and Red Hat Certificate systems.
• Configure firewalls, intrusion prevention/detection systems, VPN gateways, and wireless controllers from vendors such as Aruba, Cisco, Palo Alto, SonicWALL, and Juniper.
• Document configuration, test procedures, results, and training materials; prepare test reports and configuration documentation per customer standards.
• Provide customer on‑site training and installation and integration of the solution.
• Manage contractors and vendors during the implementation phase.
• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support as part of a technical team.
• Identify and recommend hardware and support solutions based on research and analysis of new technologies, interfacing with customers and vendors.
• Provide technical expertise to sales engineering teams during complex network developments.
• Serve as systems integrator for the various contracts within the DoD.
• Enhance department and organization reputation by taking ownership of new requests and exploring opportunities to add value.
• Apply DoD STIGs and IAVAs.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

• Secret, T5 clearance level.
• Active IAT II certification.
• Active professional network certification (e.g., CCNA).
• Three or more years of experience in network engineering.
• Bachelor's degree (5 years) or Associate's degree (7 years) in a relevant field.
