The Data Scientist-Mid will support Defense & Intelligence Programs at U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) located gg, NC which supports the broader U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Intelligence Data Science Team efforts.
Job duties (include but are not limited to):
- Contribute to completion of specific programs and projects.
- Develop data-driven solutions to complex business challenges.
- Utilizes advanced tools and computational skills to interpret, connect, predict, and make discoveries in data.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and gathering techniques.
- Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experience, efficiencies, process improvements, and other business outcomes.
- Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
- May develop processes and machine learning based tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- May coach and review the work of less experienced professionals.
- Works independently under general supervision
Required skills:
- Proficiency in Python and Bash, including API development and data manipulation.
- Familiarity with SQL and large-scale systems such as PostgreSQL, Hive, or Trino.
- Basic understanding of ML concepts and familiarity with Flask or FastAPI.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Clearance:
Current DoW TS/SCI Clearance required. - Experience:
5-8 years of related experience, including academic or internship-based data science work. - Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Data Science, or related field. - Certifications:
None required; cloud or ML-related certifications preferred. - Role requirements:
On-Site 5 days - Due to US Government Contract Requirements, only US Citizens are eligible for this role
