Job Description
Transform technology into opportunity as a Sr. Principal Network Engineer pe the future for mission‑critical government projects while advancing your career in engineering. In this role, you will serve as a recognized authority, evaluating, designing, documenting, installing, implementing, testing, and resolving network issues. You will maintain a complex range of computer network components and systems, plan and coordinate major IT initiatives, research, evaluate, and recommend new network equipment and technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate, design, document, install, implement, and test network solutions; perform problem isolation and resolution, monitoring, tuning, and set standards for network operations.
- Maintain a complex range of computer network components and systems.
- Utilize monitoring and performance analysis tools, network management software, and hardware equipment to troubleshoot, isolate problems, and gauge network performance.
- Trace data and protocol activity.
- Devise solutions to complex operational problems within equipment constraints.
- Assist in developing and delivering internal training programs.
- Meet regularly with network team members to plan, coordinate efforts, resolve cross‑team issues, and communicate changes.
- Collaborate with multiple projects’ requirements across a wide array of equipment.
Computer Networking, Network Engineering, Network Management, Network Operations experience.
Experience5+ years related experience (10+ years for Senior role).
EducationBachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science, or additional years of experience in lieu of degree.
Technical Skills- Comprehensive knowledge of all phases of network operations.
- Proficiency in evaluating network performance and solving complex networking problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Capability to provide clear documentation on network procedures.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff from other sections on complex client/server issues.
- Ability to offer practical, effective solutions within system and budget constraints.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, with strong assessment skills for network evaluation criteria.
- Adherence to network protocols and methodologies.
- Ability to review and detect errors or recommend modifications in others’ work.
- Leadership ability to guide a small team and adapt to new requirements.
- Technical proficiencies:
Cisco, Juniper, Cisco IOS, IOS‑XE, NX‑OS, VMware, ASA, VPN, NAT, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, SNMP, Solar Winds, Splunk, Intrusion Detection Systems (Snort), Telco equipment, VoIP, Cisco Call Manager, etc.
Secret clearance required to start; must be able to obtain TS/SCI.
CitizenshipU.S. citizenship required.
Travel & Work Location10–25% travel.
Work location:
Fort Bragg, NC, USA. Onsite.
Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
