The CUP Manager serves as a supervisor over a plant operations and repair team. The CUP Manager provides the necessary on‑site leadership skills to support a team encountering unique operating or repair problems. Tours areas, analyzes reports, and begins developing solutions before the problems expand. Develops performance standards, counsels employees on performance, and makes formal and informal performance appraisals. The CUP Manager shall report directly to the CMM and is able to direct, monitor, and oversee contractor staff necessary to execute all operations and maintenance requirements and quality control as described in the PWS and IAW established regulatory requirements.
May perform stationary engineer duties in addition to supervisor responsibilities. This position is contingent upon award.

Responsibilities- Tours areas, analyzes reports, and begins developing solutions before the problems expand.
- Inspects and examines heating, refrigeration and air‑conditioning, chillers, boilers, air compressors, heat exchangers, medium and low voltage switch gear, and all auxiliary equipment to locate defects in operations.
- Manages or performs preventive maintenance, installs, inspects, troubleshoots, adjusts, repairs and replaces rotating equipment (pumps, motors and associated units, parts, systems, etc.).
- Manages the addition of or adds chemicals to boilers, cooling towers, chiller, etc.
- Directs, monitors and oversees contractor staff necessary to execute all operations and maintenance requirements and quality control.
- Develops performance standards, counsels employees on performance and makes formal and informal performance appraisals. Directs and develops associates to produce professional results and meet specifications.
- Responsible for training associates in equipment operations and safe work practices.
- Understands completely all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, safety and training programs of the Plant.
- Develops, coordinates and manages work schedules and workflow.
- Works within budgeted guidelines regarding labor costs, supplies and other expense.
- Ensures the facilities under his/her responsibility are safe and comply with all federal, state and local laws.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in Central Utility Plant management operations.
- Minimum two (2) years’ technical or applied science degree from an accredited U.S. institution of higher learning.
- Familiar with applicable HVAC, OSHA, NFPA/ASME, and ANSI/NEMA codes.
- Desirable to have experience in a minimum two (2) Joint Commission hospital surveys.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
- All state or federal license requirements; or any licenses or certificates that may be required by the contract in which the employee is working.
- Must be able to pass a local background check and have the ability to obtain and maintain NACI/LAC clearance after hire.
