Position: Exercise Support Cell - Multi-Skilled Support Cell Member

Exercise Support Cell - Multi-Skilled Support Cell Member Camp Mackall & Range 37, North Carolina

The Exercise Support Cell (ESC) Multi-Skilled Support Cell Member is part of the Support Element supporting Army Special Operations Forces training at Camp Mackall and Range 37. The position provides logistical services, general maintenance and repair, construction, grounds upkeep, equipment operation, and preparation and maintenance of training infrastructure and objectives.

Job Duties
  • Provide the full range of logistical services supporting Camp Mackall and Range 37 training facilities within assigned ESC duties.
  • Perform basic repair, maintenance, and construction of existing facilities, grounds, and ancillary equipment such as targets, lighting, fences, gates, and buildings, as assigned.
  • Support design, preparation, and maintenance of training infrastructure and objectives, including structures, buildings, villages, and other regionally aligned training features.
  • Erect and deconstruct temporary deployable objectives as required to support training in remote areas.
  • Provide general carpentry, painting, lawn maintenance, masonry, electrical, and plumbing support within assigned duties and skill level.
  • Support preparation and minor repair of basic target structures and target apparatuses, including wood and mild-steel structures.
  • Perform daily and periodic minor maintenance of training facilities, Government-provided equipment, tools, and facilities within the contractor skill level.
  • Identify requirements for additional support, fuels, oils, paints, hardware, building supplies, and other materials needed to maintain training facilities and associated property.
Basic Qualifications
  • As ESC personnel, be capable of lifting 30 pounds; operating heavy equipment, trucks, tractors, mowers, or motor vehicles; and performing basic repair/maintenance and construction of existing facilities, grounds, and ancillary equipment, including grounds upkeep.
  • Be able to function in the environmental and industrial conditions specified for ESC personnel, including indoor/outdoor work; heat, cold, humidity, noise, dust, fumes, solvents, grease/oils, flammable materials, electrical energy, uneven/slippery surfaces, moving machinery/vehicles, ladders/scaffolding, below-ground work, heights, vibration, and working closely with others or alone.
  • Be able to perform in an austere field environment in all weather conditions, day and night, during field duties, and navigate on roads and cross-country using military or civilian maps, road signs, landmarks, and/or directions provided by cadre or the chain of command.
  • Provide proof of U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the United States if not a U.S. citizen; be a U.S. citizen or legally documented alien without adverse background information and have no current or pending legal action that would hinder performance.
  • Be able to provide information required for installation/facility background and access checks.

Working Environment

ESC work includes indoor and outdoor construction, maintenance, logistics, equipment operation, grounds upkeep, and training-infrastructure support. Exposure to heat, cold, humidity, noise, dust, fumes, solvents, grease/oils, flammable materials, electrical energy, uneven surfaces, moving machinery and vehicles, ladders/scaffolding, below-ground work, heights, vibration, and work either closely with others or alone.
