We are seeking a Water Treatment Plant Operator I to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of a Water Treatment Plant, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and safe work practices. We're looking for a licensed water operator but would also consider someone with water experience.
Pay range: $24/hr–$29/hr (includes $5.50 Federal Service Contract Act prevailing wage/fringe benefit; upon rollover, employee will receive benefits and pay will reduce by $5.50). Pay: $29.50- $34.50 per hour DOE
Responsibilities- Comply with all regulatory requirements
- Follow all SOPs corresponding to WTP duties
- Complete maintenance connection (MC) tasks in a timely manner
- Keep maintenance records; prepare labor and material estimates
- Follow oral and written instructions
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work
- Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, sketches, plans, specifications, and piping illustrations
- Diagnose operating problems and direct effective corrective procedures
- Assist Supervisor and Site Engineer with record keeping and preparation of routine and special reports
- Assist Supervisor and Site Engineer in planning, scheduling, and directing maintenance and repair of the Water Treatment Plant
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with supervisors, co-workers, and clients
- Establish and maintain all safety procedures outlined by OSHA, State, and OMFS
- Perform other duties as required
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Grade III License required within 24 months of hire
- Some trade school education with an emphasis on engineering technology
- Knowledge of the methods, materials, equipment, and tools used in the construction, repair, and operation of engines, pumps, and other mechanical equipment related to water/wastewater treatment plant operations and procedures; safe work practices
- Demonstrated ability to use computers and software including HACH WIMS, SCADA, Maintenance Connection, PDF software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to enter data into computerized management systems to compose and complete regulatory reports
