About the Facility – Evans Army Community Hospital

Evans Army Community Hospital is a state-of-the-art military medical center serving the Fort Carson community, including active-duty service members, retirees, and their families. As part of the Defense Health Agency, Evans ACH delivers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care across a wide range of specialties including primary care, surgery, radiology, gastroenterology, physical therapy, behavioral health, and women’s services. Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing GI procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and other diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Perform pre-procedure nursing assessments including patient history review, medication reconciliation, allergy verification, and readiness assessment
• Initiate and maintain intravenous (IV) access and administer medications per provider orders and facility protocols
• Monitor patients receiving moderate/conscious sedation including cardiac monitoring, respiratory status, oxygen saturation, and hemodynamic stability
• Recognize and respond to adverse events and emergencies in accordance with BLS and ACLS protocols
• Provide post-procedure recovery care and patient education for discharge readiness and follow-up care
• Assist with preparation, operation, and maintenance of gastroenterology procedural equipment
• Document all patient care activities accurately and timely within the electronic medical record
• Coordinate patient care in collaboration with providers and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from a program accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
• Experience: 2 years of nursing experience in an outpatient setting within the past 3 years, plus a minimum of 1 year of bedside hospital experience. Must have experience performing care and treatment of patients in a gastroenterology setting.
• Certifications: BLS and ALS (ACLS) — must be maintained current throughout assignment.
• Licensure: Current, unrestricted RN license in any U.S. state or jurisdiction.
• U.S. Citizenship required

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 0645–1515 (8-hour shifts). 30-minute uncompensated lunch.
