Position: Supervisory Police Officer with Security Clearance
Duties
* Assigns daily shift schedules, patrol sectors, and investigation tasks to subordinate investigators to ensure optimal installation coverage.
* Evaluates the job performance of subordinate personnel by establishing performance standards and conducting formal reviews.
* Coordinates emergency response activities at major traffic collision scenes to secure the perimeter and preserve critical physical evidence.
* Collects physical evidence from crash scenes, including tire scuff marks, vehicle damage profiles, and debris fields, to analyze points of impact.
* Calculates vehicle speeds, momentum vectors, and braking distances using specialized mathematical formulas and reconstruction software.
* Drafts highly detailed scale diagrams and technical narrative reports to reconstruct the sequence of events leading to a collision.
* Testifies as a subject matter expert in military courts-martial, federal magistrate court, or civilian hearings regarding traffic reconstruction findings. Requirements Conditions of employment
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
* This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
* This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion.
* This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.
* This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness.
* This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
* This position has a requirement to lift up to 45 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
* This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
* Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
* This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
* This position requires incumbent successfully graduate(d) from the US Army Civilian Police Academy or complete within one year of hire date, unless incumbent has a current approved waiver from the Office of the Provost Marshal General.
* The incumbent may be subject to personal civil action resulting from the improper exercise of arrest authority or the injudicious use of force during the apprehension or detention of any individual.
* The incumbent will be regularly exposed to the inherent, day-to-day hazards and physical dangers associated with active law enforcement and security duties.
* Incumbent must achieve Foundational qualifications within 9 months, Resident qualifications within 12 months, and maintain 20 hours of Continuous Professional Development annually, and that failure to do so may result in removal from the position.
* Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11.
* This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
