Our client, a growing and established organization in Northern Colorado, is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting and financial reporting function. This highly visible leadership role will partner closely with executive leadership and corporate finance teams to drive accurate financial reporting, maintain a strong control environment, and support strategic business initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, leadership experience, and a background in project-driven environments.

Key Responsibilities:- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Oversee preparation and review of financial statements and management reporting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate accounting policies
- Manage revenue recognition activities in accordance with ASC 606
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning initiatives
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and SOX compliance processes
- Coordinate audit activities and support external reporting requirements
- Ensure adherence to company policies and financial procedures
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals
- Partner with executive leadership on financial strategy and operational decisions
- Drive process improvements and identify efficiencies across the accounting function
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support business objectives and growth initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- CPA strongly preferred
- Public company accounting experience preferred
- Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition
- Experience with percentage-of-completion or project-based accounting
- Prior experience leading and developing accounting teams
- ERP system experience required
- Construction, engineering, manufacturing, or other project-driven industry experience highly preferred
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization
