Position Summary
The Inside Sales Manager Order Operations & ERP is responsible for leading and executing the end‑to‑end inside sales and order fulfillment process across multiple locations. This role owns order accuracy, pick ticket generation, inventory coordination, invoicing readiness, and process consistency within the ERP system (Epicor Prophet 21 preferred).
This is a hands‑on leadership role. Initially, the Inside Sales Manager will both manage three inside salespeople and actively help process orders, while stabilizing workflows, reducing errors, and building a scalable inside sales/order operations team over time.
The ideal candidate is a process‑oriented leader who understands ERP‑driven order‑to‑cash workflows, can operate independently without micromanagement, and thrives in environments that require structure, accountability, and cross‑functional collaboration.
Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesOrder Operations & Execution
- Own the full order lifecycle from sales order entry through pick ticket generation, fulfillment coordination, and invoicing readiness.
- Ensure accurate order entry, inventory allocation, and system integrity within the ERP.
- Monitor and reduce order errors, missed orders, and invoicing discrepancies.
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for inside sales order execution.
ERP & Process Ownership
- Act as the functional owner of inside sales and order fulfillment workflows within the ERP system (Epicor P21 preferred).
- Identify process gaps, system inefficiencies, and workflow breakdowns; implement corrective actions.
- Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Partner with Sales, Warehouse, Operations, and Finance to ensure consistent execution across locations.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and hold accountable inside sales/order processing personnel.
- Establish clear roles, expectations, and performance standards.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training as the team grows.
- Willingness to make tough decisions when necessary.
- Build redundancy and cross‑training to eliminate single‑point dependency.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with outside sales, warehouse managers, and operations leadership.
- Proactively resolve cross‑departmental issues related to inventory and fulfillment timing.
- Serve as a steady escalation point when issues arise.
Performance Metrics & Reporting
- Track and report KPIs, including order accuracy, cycle time, fulfillment readiness, and error rates.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Success Metrics
- Reduction in order and invoicing errors.
- Documented and adopted SOPs.
- Improved cross-location consistency.
- Reduced dependency on any single individual.
- Foundation built for scaling the inside sales team.

Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of inventory allocation and fulfillment coordination.
- Ability to work independently and remain composed under pressure.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 (P21).
- Experience in industrial distribution, MRO, manufacturing, or energy.
- Background in process improvement and SOP development.
- 5+ years of experience in inside sales, sales operations, and order management.
- Experience owning ERP-driven order‑to‑cash workflows.
- Prior experience managing or leading teams.
