Position: Data Center QA / QC Manager

Data Center QA / QC Manager (electrical) – Ft Collins, CO

This opportunity is with an established General Contractor that specializes in converting existing buildings and structures into complex industrial complexes and is expanding further into the Critical Facilities Market. Our client applies its expertise to brownfield data center projects, converting existing buildings into critical data centers for hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise customers. We are looking for an experienced Data Center Colo QA/QC Manager to support critical‑facility data center construction projects. The QA/QC Manager will manage the overall quality of multiple data center construction projects, focusing on installation and commissioning of key infrastructure systems in accordance with company policies and procedures. The facilities operate 24/7/365, and responsibilities include delivering consistent quality and support, managing issue resolution, reporting performance metrics, and establishing goals and objectives for the region.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience creating and implementing multi‑facility, standard‑based Operations & Maintenance programs, analyzing processes, developing documentation, and communicating effectively with business and operations managers. The subject‑matter expert supports the development and implementation of Mission Critical O&M initiatives based on industry best practices.

Responsibilities
  • Perform periodic site walk‑throughs to ensure procedures and standards are followed, assisting the Project Manager and support staff.
  • Communicate the status of the operation process with senior management.
  • Conduct site acceptance and commissioning of the facility to meet superior standards.
  • Assist in developing procedures and Methods of Procedures (MOPs) for the DC build and approve MOPs for data hall work.
  • Provide coverage for onsite data center manager with routine and emergency service on critical systems such as medium voltage switch gear, diesel generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, fire detection/suppression, and building monitoring systems.
  • Supervise facility manager, technicians, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring all work follows established practices and procedures.
  • Act as an escalation point of contact for each site and manage client relationships.
  • Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on critical facility operations and maintenance.
  • Coordinate projects with business leaders, managing capacity and optimizing safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Review MOPs and SOPs for all work on critical data center facility equipment.
  • Maintain a constant state of readiness to achieve the mission goal of 99.999% uptime.
  • Conduct operations and maintenance program analysis and reporting for critical facilities.
  • Design critical environment programs for internal and external clients.
  • Coordinate with design and construction teams.
  • Provide consulting services on existing critical environment O&M programs.
  • Recommend and implement industry best practices in new and existing programs.
  • Provide feedback to senior management for continuous improvement of the critical environments program.
  • Develop process documentation and training materials.
Qualifications
  • 5–10+ years of data center facility construction and commissioning experience.
  • 3–5 years of Quality Assurance / Quality Controls experience.
  • L1–L3 testing experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in data center facilities with a solid understanding of critical electrical and mechanical / HVAC equipment.
  • Experience interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with electrical conduits and power systems such as UPS, switch gear, generators, and PDUs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; good presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Superior analytical, planning, and problem‑resolution skills.
  • Highly organized with proven project management abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
