Preconstruction Manager
Hausmann has an opportunity for a Preconstruction Manager to join our Fort Collins office. The Preconstruction Manager is responsible for coordinating and effectively communicating the pre-construction processes with owners, design teams and subcontractors, as well as gathering proposals, maintaining cost data and trends, and representing the company at pre-construction / pre-bid meetings. The successful candidate must be an organized, detail-oriented, self-starter who acts in a manner of integrity and desires to grow in a company with an award-winning culture.

- Coordinate & effectively communicate preconstruction processes with owners, design teams & subcontractors
- Assisting operations to select projects to bid
- Assist and maintain multiple estimates / budgets simultaneously, as well as help review responsibility for multiple estimates
- Create & maintain preconstruction schedules for multiple projects
- Establish & modify Front End Bidding Documents for Hausmann Construction as well as coordinate documents from the design team for multiple bid packages
- Define & write scopes of work
- Generate and coordinate bid schedule
- Establish and maintain relationships with owners, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Arrange and manage bid turnover to project management team
- Review final cost report with project team and conduct post-bid review
- Assist with proposal preparation, presentation, and secure new work, including design-build projects
- Understand and coordinate contract bid solicitation requirements
- Coordinate subordinates through the take-off process and bid solicitation process (call lists)
- Assist and manage the development of value management opportunities to ensure the project budget remains on track
- Coordinate and manage the transition from pre-con to construction phase; ensure PM and Superintendent are involved prior to beginning construction
- Other related preconstruction duties as needed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction related degree, or subsequent experience
- Minimum of five years of experience in estimating, proposals, project management, or other construction related area
- Advanced knowledge of estimating strategies and techniques and experience
- Experience with OnScreen takeoff software is preferred
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of construction practices/techniques, contract laws, project controls, and building support systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and Project
- Ability to multi-task and comfortably work in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ease with building/establishing rapport with an array of people and teams
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Ability to take initiative and move projects forward with limited direction
