Job Description
Job Opening 03/14/2024 - Open until filled
Pay Range - $60,000 - $90,000
Key Responsibilities and Duties- Ability to review construction design plans and identify scope of work items with cost implications.
- Ability to lead the estimating process from inception to turnover, including takeoffs, RFIs, client interaction, and gaps in scope of work.
- Prepare and maintain RFI logs in Procore.
- Assist Senior Project Estimator.
- Assist with the creation of preliminary preconstruction schedules.
- Attend pre-construction meetings and progress meetings as designated.
- Ensure requirements of contracts and scopes of work are met.
- Communicate with subcontractors regarding preconstruction and reviewed project scopes of work prior to final bid.
- Solicit, review, and compile subcontractor estimates per Proset Construction SOPs.
- Evaluate scope of work.
- Help with maintaining owner, subcontractor, and client relationships.
- 4‑year Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management.
- 2‑5 years Commercial Construction Pre‑Construction experience with ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience, working knowledge, and thorough comprehension with Construction Design and Plans.
- Experience and working knowledge with scheduling software (CPM).
- OSHA 10/30 Certification is a plus.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and business management skills required.
- Estimating standards & procedures.
- Estimate set‑up and organization.
- Subcontractor bid pricing review and comprehension.
- Ability to write, review and edit cost narratives.
- Ability to review accurate take‑offs and estimates from conceptual and schematic drawings.
- Ability to review, understand, and accurately price construction specifications and complete scope of work.
- Excellent research skills necessary.
- Ability to manage time, organize, and utilize all available resources to meet strict deadlines and achieve expected goals.
- Must be detail oriented, self‑starter and able to function in high‑stress situations.
- Proficiency in MS Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of project management software (Procore a plus).
- Knowledge of Blue Beam preferred.
- Knowledge of estimating software (SAGE Estimating a plus).
- Must be able to assist in moving, lifting, carrying, storing or transporting materials and equipment (must lift 50 lbs or more).
- Must be able to assist all areas of the project/job site in all types of weather; includes stooping, bending, climbing, pushing, crawling or stretching.
- Must be flexible with travel requirements (determined per position and location of project).
- Must be available to address delays, emergencies, bad weather and other site issues when Project Manager and/or Superintendent are not available.
