A well-established civil construction contractor is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Estimator to join its Loveland, CO office. This is a strong opportunity for a seasoned estimator who wants to step into a high-impact role with a busy project pipeline, strong compensation, and long-term growth potential.
The ideal candidate will bring deep civil estimating experience, strong technical skills with estimating software, and the ability to support complex bids across multiple active projects. This role could be a fit for someone who has also held project management responsibilities, but the primary focus will be estimating.
Key Responsibilities- Lead estimating efforts for civil construction projects from initial review through final bid submission
- Review plans, specifications, drawings, and project documents to develop accurate estimates
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, scopes, and bid packages
- Utilize estimating software to build and manage estimates
- Collaborate with operations, project management, subcontractors, vendors, and leadership throughout the bidding process
- Evaluate labor, equipment, materials, subcontractor pricing, production rates, and project risks
- Support bid strategy, value engineering, proposal development, and final pricing decisions
- Maintain strong awareness of active and upcoming projects, market conditions, and cost trends
- Help ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with project profitability goals
- Experience estimating through dedicated estimating software required;
Heavy Bid strongly preferred, Timberline experience also valuable - Background in civil infrastructure, earthwork, utilities, sitework, heavy civil, or related construction required
- Ability to manage multiple bids and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of project costs, production, sequencing, and construction operations
- Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
- Competitive base compensation up to ~$185k
