Assist with manual distribution, raking, and luting of hot-mix asphalt to ensure a smooth, even grade;
Shovel excess asphalt, gravel, or stone; fill trenches and ditches; clear debris from paving path;
Set up and move traffic control devices and function as a flagger/spotter for safety;
Assist in backing of trucks and dumping of materials into the paver with hand signals;
Perform basic maintenance on structures and tools and support heavy equipment operation readiness
