Customer Service Rep, Bilingual, Spanish Customer Service, Event Manager / Planner
GATE ATTENDANT
Pay: $17.00 per hour. Temporary position (6 months or less). Employment starts 04/01/2026 through 09/30/2026.
Customer service based position that involves greeting visitors, selling parks passes, answering phones, counting cash receipts, and providing information to the public. Daily interaction with park visitors requires effective communication and public relations skills. Work leader responsibilities over entrance attendants.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a current and valid driver's license or reliable transportation or must have a current and valid driver's license required for operating a state vehicle
- Uniform items will be partially provided; employee may purchase limited items at own expense
- Applicants may be subject to successful completion of a comprehensive background check
- Must be willing and able to work 20 hours per week
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be available to work varied shifts morning and evenings
- Preference may be given to applicants with or working towards a Natural Resources degree or similar education
- Previous experience handling money and working with the public is preferred/required
- Possess strong interpersonal communication skills to deliver excellent customer service
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a customer service setting
- Basic computer skills required/preferred (MS Office Suite, Google App Suite)
- Ability to work with limited supervision and work well within a team
- Must be willing and able to climb in and out of vessels and under trailers to perform job functions
- Must be willing and able to work outside which may involve inclement weather

Customer service based position that involves working in a visitor center or gate entrance, greeting visitors, or may be assigned to work in the field in specialized duties in some parks. Daily interaction with park visitors requires effective communication and public relations skills.
- Staff the park entrance station and/or the visitor center
- Provide information and assistance to visitors (distribute maps/brochures, orient visitors to park facilities and amenities, promote education programs, educate on State Park regulations)
- Provide information to the boating and non‑boating public
- Sell parks passes, permits, books, maps, clothing and other novelties
- May sell gift certificates, search and rescue cards, boat registrations, OHV registrations and snowmobile registrations, fishing and hunting licenses
- Operate a cash register
- Answer telephone inquiries and transfer/take messages
- Photo‑copy documents and file
- Collect revenue, complete shift report and balance shift box at end of each shift
- May prepare campground reservation forms and documents
- May document and report visitor complaints
- Clean and perform light maintenance duties of interior and exterior of gates, visitor center and/or offices, including litter pick‑up
- May assist with special events or programs within the park
- Other duties as assigned

Customer service position that sells a variety of state park passes, hunting and fishing licenses, and other CPW products and retail items. Main line of contact for all visitors; responds to telephone inquiries and questions regarding hunting, fishing, and park use regulations.
