About AXIS:AXIS International Academy is a Pre-K-5 public charter school offering Core Knowledge curricula through language immersion. All students learn Spanish, Chinese, or French half of the day. We are located in the Clearwater building at 2700 S. Lemay Fort Collins, CO 80525. Beginning in the school year we will be located at 3939 Automation Way, Fort Collins, CO 80525.

French Elementary Teacher

The French teacher will teach French literacy, language arts, science and social studies as well as elective subjects weekly (art, music, and physical education) to two cohorts of students, participating in our 50/50 dual language immersion model. All curricula and materials are provided. The teacher will team with the English Language Arts teacher and Math teacher, who will teach the other day lessons in the core subjects in English with the same students, but at the opposite time.
Teachers have planning time 60 minutes each day while students attend Math class. We currently have flexibility in grade level assignment from Kindergarten French (MS) through 5th grade (CM2), and teacher candidates may share their grade-level preferences where applicable.
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent)
- French proficiency at native, or native-like
- English proficiency at ACTFL Advanced Mid level, or B2 CFER
- Previous teaching experience or experience working with children
- Colorado teaching license, not required but encouraged
- If considered for a visa sponsorship, must meet visa requirements, review US J1 Visa requirements
$36,000-$50,000 per year - commensurate with experience and our full-time salary schedule equivalent. Position includes health benefits and retirement benefits through Colorado Public Employee Retirement Association copera.org.
