Secondary Substitute Teacher

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; college level coursework preferred.
• Applicant must demonstrate a level of knowledge and/or experience appropriate to the position.
• Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of students, staff, parents, and community members in a professional manner.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions with limited supervision.
• Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in a school environment.
• Ability to effectively deliver lesson plan(s) while maintaining classroom management.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English (read, write, speak). Bilingual substitute candidates desired.
• Ability to demonstrate the following core values: integrity, high expectations, commitment, respect, dedication to teamwork, and passion for a student‑centered environment.
• Ability to perform the following actions with full range of motion and manual dexterity: bending, moderate lifting, twisting, carrying, moving objects, and reaching.
• Punctuality and dependability are essential functions of the job.
• Favorable criminal background check (CBC) for the candidate(s) offered employment required. CBC fee to be paid by the applicant.
• Favorable child protection registry check for the candidate(s) offered employment required. There is a $14.00 fee that is paid by the applicant.
• Tuberculin test required. There is a fee that is paid by the applicant.
• Participation in direct deposit required.
