Position for the 2026-27 school year within Poudre School District. 70% effort, teaching 6th grade Special Education at Polaris Expeditionary Learning School, a K-12 public option in Fort Collins, Colorado. Polaris offers authentic learning experiences through investigative projects over extended periods using the Expeditionary Learning model.

Salary determined by Licensed Educator Salary Schedule based on experience and education, ranging from $58,000 to $89,278 annually for a 100% assignment starting August 10, 2026.
This is a probationary position. Current PSD employees under a licensed contract who are selected will retain their contract status.
Responsibilities- Teach 6th grade Special Education curricula aligned with state standards and school goals.
- Adapt instruction, assessments, and materials to meet individual student needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to develop and implement individualized education plans.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and instructional strategies.
- Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives.
- Valid Colorado Educator’s License with the appropriate endorsement for Special Education.
- Citizenship, residency, or valid work visa required.
- Experience in teaching Special Education in a middle‑grade setting is preferred.
