Position: 2026-27 Teacher Elementary-Art-Johnson & Bennett Elementary School

Position Notes

Position will close on April 30, 2026 and is for the 2026-27 school year, teaching art at Johnson Elementary (60% Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) and Bennett Elementary (40% Monday, Wednesday).

Work calendar days: 188. Duration:
Ongoing.

Benefits include health, dental, life insurance, PERA retirement, paid time off, short and long‑term disability, employee walk‑in clinic, and optional benefit elections.

Pay is determined by the Licensed Educator Salary Schedule based on experience and education, ranging from $58,000 to $89,278 annually for a 100% assignment starting August 6, 2025.

Summary

Responsible for instructing elementary level students in art in coordination with current curriculum and within District and state content standards.

Job Tasks
  • Develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content, format, structure, schedule, individualized programs of instruction, classroom materials, curriculum, lesson plans, and learning activities.
  • Instruct students in large, small, and one‑on‑one situations.
  • Administer, edit, proofread, and grade students’ assignments and assessments.
  • Create a classroom environment that maximizes instructional opportunity, supervise behavior and wellbeing, and administer discipline when appropriate.
  • Design assessment tasks that allow students to demonstrate understanding in a variety of ways, and use the data to give meaningful feedback and modify instruction.
  • Monitor student growth and progress, adapt support as needed, and maintain documentation pertinent to academic, social, and emotional progress and needs.
  • Communicate students’ progress and needs with parents/guardians and other staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes; participate in team and building‑based meetings and discussions.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to understanding, appreciating, and making accommodations for student diversity; include and engage families; support all Poudre School District policies, procedures, and expectations; provide personal and professional excellence.
  • Participate in department, team, building, and district meetings and discussions; student and/or family conferences and other meetings; social, cultural, interscholastic, and extracurricular activities; professional growth opportunities.
  • Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Licenses Required
  • Bachelor’s degree with a proper teaching license program required.
  • Experience instructing students in a classroom setting preferred.
  • Criminal background check required for hire.
  • Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged.
