Position Overview
Teaching English Language Arts for 6th-8th grade at Preston Middle School for the 2026-27 school year. 100% assignment starting August 6th, 2025. Work calendar days: 188. Duration:
Ongoing.

Pay is determined by the Licensed Educator Salary Schedule; range for this position is $58,000 - $89,278 annually.
Responsibilities- Develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content, format, structure, and schedule.
- Create individualized programs of instruction, classroom materials, curriculum, lesson plans, and learning activities.
- Instruct students in large, small, and one-on-one settings.
- Administer, edit, proofread, and grade student assignments and assessments.
- Establish a classroom environment that maximizes instructional opportunity, supervise behavior and wellbeing of students, and administer discipline when appropriate.
- Design assessment tasks that allow students to demonstrate understanding in a variety of ways; use data to provide meaningful feedback and modify instruction.
- Monitor student growth and progress, adapt support as needed, and maintain documentation pertinent to academic, social, and emotional progress and needs.
- Communicate students' progress, needs, and eligibility with parents/guardians and other staff.
- Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes.
- Participate in department, team, building, and district meetings and discussions; student and family conferences; social, cultural, interscholastic, and extracurricular activities; and professional growth opportunities.
- Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree with a proper teaching licensure program required.
- Experience instructing students in a classroom setting preferred.
- Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required.
- Criminal background check required for hire.
- CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged.
