Position: 2026-27 Teacher Secondary-English Language Arts-Preston Middle School

Position Overview

Teaching English Language Arts for 6th-8th grade at Preston Middle School for the 2026-27 school year. 100% assignment starting August 6th, 2025. Work calendar days: 188. Duration:
Ongoing.

Pay is determined by the Licensed Educator Salary Schedule; range for this position is $58,000 - $89,278 annually.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content, format, structure, and schedule.
  • Create individualized programs of instruction, classroom materials, curriculum, lesson plans, and learning activities.
  • Instruct students in large, small, and one-on-one settings.
  • Administer, edit, proofread, and grade student assignments and assessments.
  • Establish a classroom environment that maximizes instructional opportunity, supervise behavior and wellbeing of students, and administer discipline when appropriate.
  • Design assessment tasks that allow students to demonstrate understanding in a variety of ways; use data to provide meaningful feedback and modify instruction.
  • Monitor student growth and progress, adapt support as needed, and maintain documentation pertinent to academic, social, and emotional progress and needs.
  • Communicate students' progress, needs, and eligibility with parents/guardians and other staff.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes.
  • Participate in department, team, building, and district meetings and discussions; student and family conferences; social, cultural, interscholastic, and extracurricular activities; and professional growth opportunities.
  • Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with a proper teaching licensure program required.
  • Experience instructing students in a classroom setting preferred.
  • Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required.
  • Criminal background check required for hire.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged.
